The 2026 edition of London’s Wireless Festival has been officially canceled after Kanye West was denied entry into the United Kingdom just months before the event.

West had been slated to headline all three nights of the July festival, marking what would have been his first major UK performance in over a decade. However, the UK Home Office revoked his travel authorization, stating that his presence was “not conducive to the public good,” effectively preventing him from performing.

The decision followed mounting backlash over West’s history of antisemitic remarks and controversial public behavior, which had already sparked criticism from political leaders and advocacy groups across the UK.

With West positioned as the central headliner across all three days, organizers faced the challenge of replacing the entire top of the lineup on short notice. Ultimately, festival producer Festival Republic confirmed that the event would no longer go forward, announcing full refunds for ticket holders.

Wireless Festival, one of the UK’s premier hip-hop and music events since its launch in 2005, typically draws tens of thousands of fans to London each year. The 2026 cancellation marks one of the most high-profile disruptions in the festival’s history.

At the same time, West’s recent live performances in the U.S., including a pair of sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium, highlight a stark divide in public sentiment. While large audiences have continued to show up, signaling that a portion of the fanbase is willing to move forward, critics remain firm in their stance. Many continue to call for accountability following years of public controversies, including inflammatory remarks about Jewish communities and high-profile disputes with fellow artists, comments for which West has since issued apologies.
