Queens Community Says Goodbye to Jaden Pierre, 15, Killed by Gun Violence
Jaden Pierre

A community is grieving and standing together after 15-year-old Jaden Pierre was laid to rest this weekend, following a fatal shooting that cut his life short far too soon.

Family, friends, classmates, and neighbors filled the First Baptist church in Queens to honor Jaden’s life, remembering him not for how he died, but for how he lived. Outside, the streets were lined with mourners, as a powerful motorcycle motorcade rolled alongside the hearse, a tribute that brought both emotion and unity to a heartbreaking day.

Inside the service, loved ones shared memories of a young boy with a bright spirit, someone who made people laugh, who had dreams, and who was still figuring out who he wanted to become. For many of the teens in attendance, the loss hit especially hard, a painful reminder of how close to home gun violence continues to strike.

Jaden was fatally shot earlier this month, a tragedy that has shaken the Queens community and sparked renewed calls for action and protection for young people.

As the service came to a close, there was a mix of tears, hugs, and quiet reflection. But there was also a sense of purpose, an understanding that Jaden’s name and story won’t be forgotten.

Loved ones say they hope his passing becomes more than just another headline. They want it to be a turning point, a reason for young people to look out for one another, and for the community to continue pushing for change.

Jaden Pierre was just 15 years old. And for everyone who showed up to say goodbye, that’s the part that hurts the most.
