FEDS Were Building RICO Cases Around Diddy’s Bad Boy and Suge Knight’s Death Row, Ex-Cop Reveals

Day 3 of the Tupac Shakur murder trial revealed new details about the investigation into whether money was allegedly offered for Tupac’s killing.

A former LAPD detective who worked alongside a federal task force testified that investigators were trying to determine whether Keffe D was telling the truth about being paid for the murder and whether Sean “Diddy” Combs was connected to the alleged payment.

“This was chasing the money,” the former detective testified, explaining that investigators were looking into Combs while federal authorities were examining the financial and alleged narcotics connections surrounding major record labels.

The detective stressed that investigators were working at a federal level alongside agencies including the FBI, ATF and DEA, with authorities exploring potential RICO cases while homicide investigators focused on the murders.

But perhaps the most powerful moment came when he was asked whether he believed Keffe D’s account of Tupac’s killing. Why? Because Keffe D implicated his own nephew, Orlando Anderson, whom the detective said Davis loved.

“I didn’t think Mr. Davis would put the gun in his own nephew’s hand…unless it was true,” he testified.

The detective said Anderson was deeply loved by his family and questioned why Keffe D would place that stigma on his deceased nephew if the story were fabricated.

“I know he loved his nephew,” the detective told the court.

Nearly 30 years after Tupac’s murder, jurors are now hearing directly from investigators about why they believed Keffe D and where they believed the money trail could lead.
