Drake Sets Release Date for New Album Iceman
After months of cryptic teasers that including a massive ice stunt, Drake has officially locked in a release date for his next studio album Iceman.
The Toronto superstar confirmed that his ninth studio album, Iceman, will drop on May 15, 2026, marking his first solo project since 2023’s For All the Dogs.
Instead of a traditional announcement, Drake turned the reveal into a full-on spectacle. He placed a massive ice sculpture in Toronto with the album’s release date hidden inside. Streamer Kishka retrieved a bag from atop the block of ice and hopped in a vehicle straight to the Aubrey estate where he opened the contents to reveal the date. At one point Drake peeks out from a window inside the mansion, further exciting the streamer. The moment capped one of the most creative stunts around an album release that resulted into utter viral chaos.
The album has been in the works since at least 2024 and is shaping up to be one of his most anticipated releases in years.
Iceman also arrives after a turbulent period in Drake’s career, including his high-profile rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, a narrative many fans expect will influence the tone of the project, potentially setting the next chapter in their ongoing feud.
While there's much debate of what to expect on Drake's next arrival, according to insiders who've heard some of the music proclaim it's one of Drake's best pieces of work. In just a few weeks you can judge for yourself.
